About the Author

Mary Duda lives on a thousand acre farm just north of Omaha, Nebraska. She is married to Jim Duda, a retired stained-glass artist. They each have four children, for a total of eight, and five grandchildren.

Today she is retired from working for the Gallup Polls as a phone interviewer. Yes, she used to be one of those annoying people who called folks in the middle of dinner to ask them questions. Now she volunteers at a hospital visiting patients, tends rosebushes at the Memorial Garden, reads to second and third graders at a local elementary school, drives prisoners to church on Sunday, and goes on mission trips to work on houses on Indian reservations. In her free time she gardens, writes, travels, and goes fishing and scuba diving.
